Wrap bracelets

I will be adding a few new bracelets to the shop very soon (FINALLY), including the one pictured above. Isn't the brass skull awesome?! Unfortunately the shop (and this blog, among other things) suffered the past few months while I was busy with planning my wedding and starting a new job! I am now doing ABA therapy with kids with autism and I love it :)

Did you notice the blog got a facelift? What do you think? More changes to come but it's a start. I also made a new site for my jewelry - check it out and let me know what you think!

That's all for now. More soon, hopefully :)

Main Street Pop-Up Shop!

I am going to be part of a pop-up shop which is opening this week!! Sorry about the short-notice: we didn't have a lot of notice about getting the space, and then I got very sick this last week and am only now re-joining the real world! :)

The shop is in a brick building at 4570 Main street, Vancouver, B.C.  The building may not be the prettiest thing, but it will be filled with so many treasures! It will be open February 15 - March 31st. Our hours will be:
Tues & Wed 11am - 6pm
Thurs 11am - 8pm
Fri 11am - 6pm
Sat 10am - 6pm
Sun 12 - 5pm (closed Mon)
I will be there Thursdays, Fridays & Sundays. There is a Facebook page for the shop as well as an event for the grand opening this Saturday!

What will you find in the shop? Handmade, vintage, fair-trade goods and supplies from:
Clare's Collectables
Daria's Hats

Hope to see you there!!

Warm fuzzies

Photo belongs to Jenny Hine/SAINTS
Thanks to sales of specific items at my winter markets this year we raised $20 to donate to both SAINTS and HomeFinders animal rescues ($20 to each charity). This makes me happy! Here is a blurb about each charity:

"SAINTS is an end-of-life sanctuary for senior and special needs animals that have nowhere else to go. We provide a special place to be loved, cherished, and receive proper medical care for the rest of their days. All animals deserve to have hope for a better tomorrow." Check out their website here.

"HomeFinders strives to house, rehabilitate and rescue abused, abandoned and otherwise homeless animals, before placing them in new, loving homes. HomeFinders has a special interest in animals from small communities in Northern BC, and strives to assist these animals through placement in the lower mainland." You can check them out here.

Thanks to everyone who shopped honeywild this season! These rescues do awesome work and I am grateful to be able to help them out. I plan on putting some items that include donations in the online shop soon, I just need time & good lighting! :)

Happy holidays to you & yours!

New Addition

I have a few things I need to take the time to sit down and share soon but I've been a bit all over the place lately! So until then I felt I needed to at least share our newest addition with you! We've adopted a kitty! Maggie is about 9 years old and wasn't getting along with the resident blue heeler at her last home. He was a bit intense. She's been fine with other dogs though, so we hope we'll all be able to get along here! We only got her last night and she's still pretty into hiding so I don't have a very good photo of her.

Here she is snuggled in a corner beside a chest of drawers & behind things I have yet to find a home for (I realllly need some shelving in my office/workspace asap!). She won't come out during the day yet but she let me give her rubs & scratches and gave me a nice healthy purrrr :) She's super soft and fluffier than a regular short-hair cat. She has sweet little white paws and big gorgeous eyes. I can't wait for her to get more comfortable here and really show herself! :)

I've got her in my room upstairs and have blocked off the last set of stairs up so the dogs can't go make a huge fuss at the door. They still make a fuss down below when I go up there, but whatcha gonna do. Hopefully I'll have a better photo to share soon!

A new year, a new look!

Happy new year!
You may have noticed I've change the banner (and accompanying buttons etc). I feel this fits my aesthetic better. I hope you like it! I'm very happy with it.

I'm also changing locations! Physically, not electronically. You can still find me in the same places here, but in real life I am moving to Port Moody! Ben and I bought a townhouse!! We get possession this week and it's kind of unreal. We want to do a bit of painting & some work on one of the bathroom before we move in by the end of the month. I'll try to get some before & after's to share with you!

I'll also try to update here more often. It's been hard lately as I've been busy and my hands are bothering me again and I may have to have a talk with my rheumatologist about my medications sooner rather than later. Super lame! But I do feel neglectful so I'll try to remedy that.
So, be back soon!

Dream a little dream

These necklaces and many others, accompanied by lots of earrings, are now for sale in Dream (311 West Cordova st.) and Little Dream (Net Loft, Granville Island)! I first "found" Dream years ago during high school when I used to hang out downtown a lot more with one of my best friends. We would hit A&B Sound (RIP) and our favourite 99¢ pizza place, then wander up Granville. We'd often go to Sacred Heart for a new piercing or new jewelry (or a new bead - I changed mine obsessively for awhile, never feeling happy with the colour I chose).

Anyhow, I'd often go to Dream after getting off the seabus. It was (is) this amazing place with awesome clothing and accessories like nothing I'd really seen before, and it was by local designers! How cool can a store be?? I dreamed of one day making something and selling it there, but it was a far away, daydream-y sort of dream. It didn't seem like something that would really happen. But, I kept a card from the shop with info on the back about selling your creations there. It sat around for years and when I finally set up a real desk to make my jewelry at it lived there in a business card holder. I've been talking about approaching stores about carrying my jewelry for months now, probably about a year really. I kept putting it off for various reasons, which really all boiled down to being chicken about it. It was Sarah who finally nudged me into doing it: she's had her jewelry there for awhile and told me that the owner, Wendy, is really great to work with. So, I am grateful for the nudge, and she was totally right! Wendy is awesome. I am so excited to finally have my jewelry for sale in a real live store, haha. If you've never been to Dream I really encourage you to check it out! There's always something new to see and they have great taste in music. I first heard Belle & Sebastien in Dream years ago on a gorgeous sunny day, and the last time I was there they were listening to She & Him. If you don't live locally, I promise to take you there if you come to visit :)

I also made some earring cards for the first time for this adventure (pictured below): what do you think? I picked up the beautiful washi tape at Paper Ya! in the Net Loft on Granville Island. The Net Loft is my candy store. With Paper Ya!, the bead store, the postcard store and Little Dream, I can easily spend a small fortune without having to go far at all! It's kind of a problem. Anyhow! I'm getting a little rambly so I'll leave off here.

Concordia

I'm not sure if I told you about the Concordia pop-up shop. It will be in the On Que building at 196 Kingsway (and Broadway) in Vancouver during the month of June. Some honeywild sterling silver charm necklaces and chandelier and filigree earrings will be there for your shopping delight! A few of the earrings are shown here, and most of the necklaces can be seen in my Etsy shop and have been marked for Concordia. I can't wait to see it next week! Hope you get a chance to check it out if you live in the Vancouver area, it should be stocked with lots of locally made goodies :)

Sunday Market!

Sneak peek at a necklace I just made the other day!

Just wanted to remind everyone that I will be selling at this Sunday's Blim market! It's held at the Heritage Hall in Vancouver (3012 Main st) and contrary to what I had previously posted, the hours are 12:00-5:00. I guess they changed! Anyhow, I hope to see you there!

Recycle your jewels!

You might have noticed that there's a new tab at the top of the site. I invite you to recycle your unwanted jewelry! I've had a few friends donate some of their old jewelry after doing some spring cleaning: some pieces have already been taken apart and beads and charms are making their way into new jewelry! If you have things gathering dust and taking up space in your jewelry box and you don't know what to do with them, I encourage you to send them to me! You'll receive a coupon for honeywild jewelry in return. Leave a comment here or e-mail me for more information.

I also thought I'd share some photos with you of pieces currently available but not yet in the shop (time has been escaping me so I haven't listed much lately, my apologies). I took them on Monday morning and the light was PERFECT! These are the three photos I'm using for my application the the spring Got Craft market. If you have any questions or are interested in any of the pieces, leave a comment or e-mail me!

Holiday market time!

It's time to start shopping for the holidays! I love this time of year. My house is a winter wonderland right now with fluffy snow everywhere and I've already checked out two holiday markets. I've done about half of my Christmas shopping and a lot of it is from local artisans or from Etsy and I think it makes the gifts so much cooler than anything from a box store :)

I'll be selling at the Blim market in the Chinese Cultural Centre (50 Pender St. E) in Vancouver on November 28th. The market will be open from 11:00am to 4:00pm. For more information please visit their website.

Only a portion of my jewelry makes it into the Etsy shop: to see a bigger selection you have to see me at a market or visit my home studio. I'd love to see you next Sunday! Mention that you read the blog to receive %15 off your purchase (valid at the Blim market on Nov. 28th only). If you are unable to make it to the market but wish to see my full stock then send me an e-mail at honeywildlovesyou@gmail.com. For those unable to attend the market, receive a %10 discount on your online purchase by sending me an e-mail or Etsy conversation stating the items you'd like to purchase and mentioning the code "holly." (Valid until December 1st)

I sent out a newsletter last week with this information & a photo of some new necklaces: if you'd like to be kept in the loop then sign up here.

Peek at some items destined for the market:

Stay cozy!

Off to frolic with the French!

Hello beautiful people!

In the meantime, get yourself a great costume for Halloween and enjoy Fall! All purchases and messages will be processed and replied to when I return on the 28th.

Vacation time!

I am going on a road trip with my boyfriend Ben on Thursday! We are leaving in the morning and should be in Portland in the afternoon, where we will see my penpal & friend Brittany ! She's putting us up at her place because she's awesome like that. We'll spend Friday in Portland, then after a delicious breakfast (Blue Pig Café?) with Britt & Jonathan in Portland we'll head off for San Francisco on Saturday morning. Yeah! There we're set to see Alcatraz on Sunday and are driving to San Jose on Monday, I THINK, to check out the Winchester Mystery House, which sounds AWESOME! We're planning on coming back to Vancouver on Tuesday or Wednesday, so we'll be gone for roughly a week. I also plan on some shopping I've been dreaming about for months (hello Anthropologie! I'm also looking at you Designer Shoe Warehouse, Victoria's Secret), some touristy wandering in Portland & San Fran, hanging out with Brittany!!, enjoying free time and sight-seeing with my super sweet boyfriend! Yay!

So, with this in mind, please note that any purchases made or messages sent after Tuesday will probably not be processed or replied to until next Thursday, September 30th. Thanks for your understanding! See ya when I'm back :)

Thanks as always for your support :)
Stay fabulous.
