Pop-Up Shop Last Days!

Saturday, March 30 is our last day at 4570 Main street!
I meant to post this earlier but I have not been able to keep up with wedding planning (which um, I think I forgot to post about here?! OOPS. I will try to update you on that sitch soon ;) ), day job work and being at the pop-up shop! I will be there all day on Friday & Saturday and will be having a SALE on Saturday! I will be offering a discount on all my regular priced jewelry, probably 15% off. Make sure to drop by to see me before it's all over and get a deal on some fun jewels for spring & summer! The shell & glass bead necklaces (pictured above) are also great as a wrap bracelet, that's how I wear mine in the summer. And semi-precious stone arrowhead necklaces? Perfect sunny weather wear. Pick up two as funky friendship necklaces!
(If you do not live in or around Vancouver but want to take advantage of the deal, email me with what you're interested in purchasing, we'll work it out)

I am going away for the first two weeks of April but when I am back I will have a lot more free time (yesss) and will be working on new stuff to be filling the online shop, and bringing new pieces to Dream. I CAN'T WAIT! Also can't wait for my vacation though: I'm coming for you, Hawaii!! I've never been and there is no better time for a vacation than now!

As for the pop-up shop space, it will be undergoing a transformation (hello much-needed paint!) and will re-open sometime in April with new vendors! So if Main street is your hood, be sure to pop in again and see what's new.

Tonight's hard work

I'm pretty happy with it! :) Hoping it can be posted in a yoga studio or two. If you know of somewhere you think it would do well & want to post it, you'll receive huge gratitude & good karma! ;)

New necklaces

I'm getting excited for summer markets! The first one for me will be this Thursday at the Royal City Farmer's Market in New West. For more info check out the markets/stockists tab up above. Here are some necklaces that I'll have for sale - I really love the new shell necklaces and wrap bracelets! So perfect for sunny days and beach trips.

Lately

Life has been so hectic lately I've been away from here longer than planned! Along with friends moving away and work stuff, I've been busy preparing for the Nifty for Fifty sale that happened this past Sunday (pictured above) and my upcoming trip. Oh yeah! I am leaving on Friday for two weeks in Istanbul and Amsterdam! Eeks! So very excited. I got travel books from the library on both places and haven't even looked at them yet - Ben left them in the middle of the stairs tonight in hopes that I might look at them when I tripped, haha. So this is brief as I'm in dire need of sleep (I'm writing this at 10:33pm Tues :) ). The honeywild shop will be closed in a day or two and will re-open upon my return. The tender buttons vintage shop will be populated with some treasures when I get back as well. Until then you can find these beauties at Dream!

New Items

I have two posts that are half-way finished (and they're not even big posts) but I can't seem to finish them. So, in the meantime, I'll share these photos that I took yesterday. The lighting and the backdrop I put together made the photos amazing! I think they're the best I've taken of jewelry yet (I'm really psyched about the ones for new listings). The ones here are the three I sent in with my applications to Got Craft and the River Market. I hadn't applied to any markets since I wasn't sure what was going on with my joints so I wasn't sure how jewelry making (and other things) would go. I'd LOVE to be part of Got Craft, but I'd be happy to be part of either, so wish me luck! The other photos I took were for new listings - I plan on putting some up tomorrow. Keep your eyes peeled!

New items

I've started experimenting with making dog collar charms although they would also make a cute addition to a keychain or something like that as well. I think the one above is the first one I did. I'm going to be at the Richmond International Film & Media Arts Festival (I posted the info here) so I think I'll bring them there, unless I get a request for one before that.

I've also added new earrings and bracelets to the shop, as well as two necklaces, if you missed those. Here are a few of the new additions:

Dream a little dream

These necklaces and many others, accompanied by lots of earrings, are now for sale in Dream (311 West Cordova st.) and Little Dream (Net Loft, Granville Island)! I first "found" Dream years ago during high school when I used to hang out downtown a lot more with one of my best friends. We would hit A&B Sound (RIP) and our favourite 99¢ pizza place, then wander up Granville. We'd often go to Sacred Heart for a new piercing or new jewelry (or a new bead - I changed mine obsessively for awhile, never feeling happy with the colour I chose).

Anyhow, I'd often go to Dream after getting off the seabus. It was (is) this amazing place with awesome clothing and accessories like nothing I'd really seen before, and it was by local designers! How cool can a store be?? I dreamed of one day making something and selling it there, but it was a far away, daydream-y sort of dream. It didn't seem like something that would really happen. But, I kept a card from the shop with info on the back about selling your creations there. It sat around for years and when I finally set up a real desk to make my jewelry at it lived there in a business card holder. I've been talking about approaching stores about carrying my jewelry for months now, probably about a year really. I kept putting it off for various reasons, which really all boiled down to being chicken about it. It was Sarah who finally nudged me into doing it: she's had her jewelry there for awhile and told me that the owner, Wendy, is really great to work with. So, I am grateful for the nudge, and she was totally right! Wendy is awesome. I am so excited to finally have my jewelry for sale in a real live store, haha. If you've never been to Dream I really encourage you to check it out! There's always something new to see and they have great taste in music. I first heard Belle & Sebastien in Dream years ago on a gorgeous sunny day, and the last time I was there they were listening to She & Him. If you don't live locally, I promise to take you there if you come to visit :)

I also made some earring cards for the first time for this adventure (pictured below): what do you think? I picked up the beautiful washi tape at Paper Ya! in the Net Loft on Granville Island. The Net Loft is my candy store. With Paper Ya!, the bead store, the postcard store and Little Dream, I can easily spend a small fortune without having to go far at all! It's kind of a problem. Anyhow! I'm getting a little rambly so I'll leave off here.

I ♥ Sadie

Hello loves!
I've been a bit absent as I've been adjusting to the fact that my hard drive is goners and I've had to start over from scratch. I think I've been in mourning. I'm just starting to get programs back on here, like Photoshop (yay!) so I'm trying to get back into the swing of things.

I meant to take this photo earlier in the day but oh well! At least the lighting isn't terrible - a lot of our house was repainted last week, including our bathroom. It used to be green and it has TERRIBLE lighting: now it's a shade of white and is so much brighter! I love it. I took the photo last weekend mainly to show off my beloved new Sadie Designs necklace. It's the beautiful long quartz pendulum necklace. The shorter sterling silver & crystal necklace is one I made. Lastly, the tank top is one of my new favourites. It's soft & lovely and says "rose above" and reminds me of Beca.

Today went by so quickly, I can't believe it! I've been busy talking with other creative ladies online, working on custom orders, dilly dallying on the net a bit (like maybe obsessing over antique art deco engagement rings) and chasing after nutty puppies. I'll be back here with updates real soon!

New necklace design

This necklace (pictured in my last post in close up) sold at last Sunday's Blim market but I plan on making more in this style. The top part is leather cord and the bottom half is sterling silver chain (the pendant on this necklace is made with a ceramic bead and vintage key). More photos of this necklace can be found in this Flickr photo set.

Sunday Market!

Sneak peek at a necklace I just made the other day!

Just wanted to remind everyone that I will be selling at this Sunday's Blim market! It's held at the Heritage Hall in Vancouver (3012 Main st) and contrary to what I had previously posted, the hours are 12:00-5:00. I guess they changed! Anyhow, I hope to see you there!

Recycle your jewels!

You might have noticed that there's a new tab at the top of the site. I invite you to recycle your unwanted jewelry! I've had a few friends donate some of their old jewelry after doing some spring cleaning: some pieces have already been taken apart and beads and charms are making their way into new jewelry! If you have things gathering dust and taking up space in your jewelry box and you don't know what to do with them, I encourage you to send them to me! You'll receive a coupon for honeywild jewelry in return. Leave a comment here or e-mail me for more information.

I also thought I'd share some photos with you of pieces currently available but not yet in the shop (time has been escaping me so I haven't listed much lately, my apologies). I took them on Monday morning and the light was PERFECT! These are the three photos I'm using for my application the the spring Got Craft market. If you have any questions or are interested in any of the pieces, leave a comment or e-mail me!

Pendant peek

These have all been made into sterling silver necklaces! The typewriter one is mine and is currently around my neck (love it!!); the others will be for sale at the Blim market on Sunday. The palm tree and gondola charms are from a vintage sterling silver charm bracelet.

Still here!

Hello lovelies!
This summer has been a lot busier and more demanding than I'd expected! I keep thinking "after this-or-that it will be more chill and I will have some free time" but that hasn't seemed to have happened! I definitely wanted to update this more often than I have. I do what I can! I hope to have some new things in the shop soon: I have many items waiting to be photographed and listed. I'll try to post here again soon! I also have some vintage keys on their way to me if anyone is interested in a key necklace.

The necklace pictured is now available for purchase in the Etsy shop!

Keys please!

I've had a lot of interest in the "Secret-Keeper" necklace that I donated to the silent auction that took place last night, so I thought I would show you guys the keys I currently have in my inventory to work with. They are all vintage or reclaimed. I took the photos with a measuring tape so you have an idea of size. Comment below if you are interested in one or have any other questions or comments!
*** Both keys on the bottom in the first photo are now reserved! I will be getting some new vintage keys soon, so if you are interested please comment or drop me a line! ***

Get friendly with your library!

I've donated a necklace to a silent auction at a fundraiser that benefits the North Vancouver District Library branches. It's called "Make Friends with Your Library!" and it will be at the Cedar Grove Restaurant (1255 Lynn Valley Road, in the library square) in North Vancouver. It's from 6-9:00pm, and features the silent auction, live music by Robbie Burns, door prizes and more! Ten percent of food and non-alcoholic beverages go to the fundraiser as well. I hope to see you there, it will be fun!

This necklace (which you will see at the auction!) is named after the main character in The Secret-Keeper, an illustrated children’s book by author Kate Coombs. The book is available at the Lynn Valley Library and I highly recommend you check it out, it’s a great story!
