VERY last minute as I have too much on my mind lately and haven't been thinking of markets or jewelry or vintage much at all lately. I'll have a table in the laneway market tomorrow west of Main st between Broadway and 7th ave in Vancouver, 12:00-6:00pm. If you're around, come check it out! We always have a great time at the Liveable Laneway markets. There will be a cook-off and music too!

New necklaces

I'm getting excited for summer markets! The first one for me will be this Thursday at the Royal City Farmer's Market in New West. For more info check out the markets/stockists tab up above. Here are some necklaces that I'll have for sale - I really love the new shell necklaces and wrap bracelets! So perfect for sunny days and beach trips.

Lately

 

Life has been so hectic lately I've been away from here longer than planned! Along with friends moving away and work stuff, I've been busy preparing for the Nifty for Fifty sale that happened this past Sunday (pictured above) and my upcoming trip. Oh yeah! I am leaving on Friday for two weeks in Istanbul and Amsterdam! Eeks! So very excited. I got travel books from the library on both places and haven't even looked at them yet - Ben left them in the middle of the stairs tonight in hopes that I might look at them when I tripped, haha. So this is brief as I'm in dire need of sleep (I'm writing this at 10:33pm Tues :) ). The honeywild shop will be closed in a day or two and will re-open upon my return. The tender buttons vintage shop will be populated with some treasures when I get back as well. Until then you can find these beauties at Dream!

I just got word that I'll have a table at this event on Sunday, December 11th! I'm psyched. I will now be mad busy for the next week as I sold a lot on Thursday evening and have to replenish my stock! Check out the Facebook event here.

Got Craft?

Spool of Thread will have a fun DIY table again this year!

Got Craft is one of the best craft fairs in Vancouver, in my opinion, and I'm so sad to be missing it this year! I have to work this Sunday and can't get out of it.  Super bummer! These are the things I'd be most psyched about seeing/buying if I could go:

Bake Sale - I bought my mom a box of flower cupcakes last year and they were both beautiful and delicious!

The Beautiful Project - I love her (illustrated) cards and always buy a few. My favourite is the the one that says "You look beautiful today."

Dani Press - More awesome cards! These ones feature awesome photos with meaningful words. My favourite is probably one that says "Never give up on the idea of what your life could look like." Perfection.

Sadie Designs - Sarah is awesome. She makes these necklaces with geodes and puts little figures in them (among other lovely necklaces and earrings). Maybe you have to go and check them out to understand. They're completely unique and full of adventure and whimsy.


Thistle Town Studio - They make lumberjack animal stuffed animals!! Love them!! I first saw them at Collage Collage and wanted one sooo badly.

AND, of course, the swag bag! People line up early in hopes of getting one of these covet-worthy bags of goodies from the vendors! Layer up, grab a hot drink and camp out early if you're brave and if you get one of these babies it will be well worth it, I promise! Weekend part 2

Hello lovelies,
sorry this post is late. I have been dealing with some frustrating health issues lately and they've been kind of sucking my energy to do things. I am trying to get them sorted out but it's proving complicated, of course, so wish me luck!

Anyhow, I wanted to share a bit from my Sunday which was mostly lovely! Ben & I went to Make It, a really cool handmade market that happens twice a year. We planned on getting drinks to enjoy while walking around (we figured it's the only craft fair we know that serves alcohol so we should partake ;) ) and hoped to find a new wallet for Ben. Unfortunately we didn't find a wallet, but we did enjoy a beer each (and were congratulated on doing so by a number of sellers, haha), ate DELICIOUS pistachio macaroons from French Made Baking (seriously they were melt-in-your-mouth heavenly!!) and picked up a few small gifts for people. Then I picked up some supplies that I am really excited about! We headed over to Spool of Thread because I'd seen some fabric they have online that I "had to have" because it is gorgeous and is covered in adorable dogs (even though I'm not sure what I'll use it for yet). If you've never been, they are a sewing lounge: they have awesome fabrics and host sewing classes. They also have great neighbours including Collage Collage (love!! they host kid's craft birthday parties, among other things) and Ruby Dog's Art House (random awesome craft supplies, lots of vintage ephemera). I might have found a little something for Beca at Ruby's. Maybe. I also got some tiny keys which I am SO EXCITED ABOUT!!! They are going to make the best necklaces ever. They are real old keys, and the tiny ones that say "presto" are my new favourite thing. I bought all the ones I saw :O (I bought a lot of keys you guys. I better get makin'.)



The magnet is by Jennifer Conway (see and/or buy some here): it's for Ben's dad, probably for father's day? So cute! I thought the disk (I have more with other numbers) could be fun on a keychain with other beads/charms. We'll see how that goes. Sunday Market!

Sneak peek at a necklace I just made the other day!

Just wanted to remind everyone that I will be selling at this Sunday's Blim market! It's held at the Heritage Hall in Vancouver (3012 Main st) and contrary to what I had previously posted, the hours are 12:00-5:00. I guess they changed! Anyhow, I hope to see you there!

Spring Markets

I just applied to be part of the spring Got Craft market! If all goes well I'll be sharing a table with Sam Made on May 8th! Wish us luck! I won't know if we're accepted until March. Such a wait!

In the meantime, Sam and I will for sure be at the Blim Monthly Market at the Heritage Hall (3102 Main St, Vancouver, BC) on Sunday, March 27. Yay! So count on doing some birthday present shopping or self-spoiling in the spring with us :) We look forward to seeing you beautiful people there.

Recycle your jewels!

You might have noticed that there's a new tab at the top of the site. I invite you to recycle your unwanted jewelry! I've had a few friends donate some of their old jewelry after doing some spring cleaning: some pieces have already been taken apart and beads and charms are making their way into new jewelry! If you have things gathering dust and taking up space in your jewelry box and you don't know what to do with them, I encourage you to send them to me! You'll receive a coupon for honeywild jewelry in return. Leave a comment here or e-mail me for more information.

I also thought I'd share some photos with you of pieces currently available but not yet in the shop (time has been escaping me so I haven't listed much lately, my apologies). I took them on Monday morning and the light was PERFECT! These are the three photos I'm using for my application the the spring Got Craft market. Pendant peek

These have all been made into sterling silver necklaces! The typewriter one is mine and is currently around my neck (love it!!); the others will be for sale at the Blim market on Sunday. The palm tree and gondola charms are from a vintage sterling silver charm bracelet.

Holiday market time!

It's time to start shopping for the holidays! I love this time of year. My house is a winter wonderland right now with fluffy snow everywhere and I've already checked out two holiday markets. I've done about half of my Christmas shopping and a lot of it is from local artisans or from Etsy and I think it makes the gifts so much cooler than anything from a box store :)

I'll be selling at the Blim market in the Chinese Cultural Centre (50 Pender St. E) in Vancouver on November 28th. The market will be open from 11:00am to 4:00pm. For more information please visit their website.

Stay cozy!

Bowen Summer Market

We were at the Bowen Summer Market last Saturday. I would usually let you know that beforehand, but it was pretty last-minute. It was pretty slow, but I hear it is busier on Sundays. We had a good time regardless: the people were nice, it was a gorgeous day and we had shelter from the sun. It was a pretty chill day! We'll be back there on Sunday, August 15th. My friend Janet is going that day as well: she has delicious essential oils from India as well as these amazing semi-precious stone necklaces she makes. She learned the knotting technique she uses in India. If you have nothing planned and are in the Vancouver area, you should come over! It's right at the ferry terminal on Bowen, and it's under $10 to walk on the ferry from Horseshoe Bay. My friend Carolyn came over for a few hours to check out the market and go for a hike and she said it was beautiful!
