We have our new place!! Number 263! We've started sanding and cleaning and I picked paint colours and we're super excited :) We've been moving boxes but plan on moving furniture on the 28th so we should be all in by February. The previous owners left behind a bunch of stuff: we donated or threw out a bunch but I think we'll use a dresser for storage in one of the spare rooms and I was happy to have a few houseplants there to greet me - made it feel more homey! I'm hoping to have a lot of it painted before we move in, and would like to have everything painted soon after we've moved in - we'll see how that goes. The floors are mostly laminate which is in pretty good condition so it's fine. The stairs are hideous carpet so I'd love to redo them within the first year if possible. We'd also like to tile the tub soon-ish as it's just ugly white plastic which doesn't go with the off-white (jacuzzi!) tub. But, we'll see. We also want a real couch and of course all of this costs money, so I know I will probably have to wait on a lot of this stuff. Anyhow, we are home-owners! It's like we're grown-ups or something.

How fun and exciting! Love the fireplace. Also, my fiance and I moved into a new place last year which had our first dishwasher... it's been life changing! No more dishes arguments!! :D

Megan - totally! I'm excited about the fireplace. Ben wants to switch it to gas but the wood-burning suckers me in with nostalgia...
And YES! No more sink full of dishes all the time - yippee!!

Thanks Rachel! It went pretty well. It's liveable here now although there are boxes and things EVERYWHERE!! Looking forward to getting organized in a big way.
