What Makes You Tick

Me & Aurora, Ben's niece!

A few blogging friends have been doing posts recently with fun facts about themselves. I've really enjoyed reading them so I thought I'd give it a shot!

I don't paint my nails very often, and when I do (or when I very rarely get a manicure) it feels like such a novelty. Sort of like being someone else! No matter how careful I am though, how short my nails are, what kind of nail polish I use... the longest they last is probably two days before they start getting majorly chipped. I hate chipped polish, so after day three or so the colour is usually gone.

I am still afraid of the dark. Not so much when Ben's home, but if I'm home alone and the dogs bark at the door or I have to take them out back (where it is SUPER dark at night) then I get freaked out. I also get more scared of the dark after watching scary movies, which I don't do very often. I also hate bugs. I hate thinking about bugs being in my house. Eek.

The Pamper's newborn commercial makes me really teary. I hate to say it because generally I HATE ads, but with these joint problems I've been stuck at home watching TV a lot and it gets me every time.

I have a few piercing but haven't been able to commit to a tattoo. I've wanted to get one a few times, with a few different ideas of what I want, but I struggle with placement and the fact that it's so permanent. I even had an appointment for one a few years ago and cancelled last minute because I panicked.

I wear three toe-rings all the time. I've worn toe-rings since at least early high school. I used to wear rainbow plastic ones stacked on one toe as well as one or two silver ones, through my dance classes and everything. The sterling ones I'm wearing now are newer but I've had them a few years and haven't taken them off since I got them. When I was younger I used to wear ring on all my fingers as well, but I've scaled that back a bit since I've "matured" (ha!). I am still obsessed with rings though, have a lot and feel naked if I accidentally leave the house without any on.

I think that's it for now! Maybe I'll do this again another time. What are some of your quirks or secrets? I'd love to hear them :)

Hey Stina, it's fun to hear a little more about you. What are you making these days? Anything new, or are your joint problems sidelining you a little? Hope you're having a great weekend.

I've slowly been making a few different necklaces for fall with waxed Irish linen, but the joint problem have made it virtually impossible to make much of anything. I can't really manage pliers right now and I use them to make pretty much everything. So frustrating!
Hope you've been enjoying the sunny weekend! It's been pretty nice.

Yay for toe rings! I have one on my right foot that I've been wearing since high school and my toe joints have grown around it to accommodate it. Weird, but cute!

Britt, I hear ya! Haha. The stack of coloured ones I used to wear was tall and I wore it for years and when I finally took it off my toe had a 'dent' for so long.

Yeah, I think fancy is the way I feel with polish on, hence the "someone else." I love it, but... anyhow, it's fun when I do it, which is rarely :)

How can you drink so much coffee?! Haha. Is it regular coffee? Sometimes when my coffee is really good in the morning I want to keep having more, but if I have too much my stomach gets angry and/or I get shaky and jittery. I used to work in a coffee shop a few years ago though, and I was a coffee fiend then. I drank coffee alll dayyy looong. I don't know how. If I had the opening shift I sometimes started with a redbull, too. Whee!

I'm glad I'm not the only one with the commercial, haha. I've seen good ones but that one, oh man!! Deadly stuff.

xo.

Ha, I used to work for a coffee company here and it started then. I really think I'm immune to caffeine unless I do a quad shot of espresso. I just like the taste, and my favorite cups are the late night ones one I have me time. I am really crazy about brushing my teeth a lot through the day so I don't stain my teeth! :)
